Berk Günay
Berk Günay, a visual artist born in 1997 and currently residing in Istanbul, is a Fine Arts graduate from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. His work, which blends figurative realism and abstract elements, takes inspiration from surrealism and symbolism to explore themes of occultism and spirituality.
In his exploration, Berk contemplates the intricate connection between memory and emotion, underscoring the distortions that emerge from human cognition. He prompts viewers to question the nature of truth and the origins of intuition, and to consider the journey towards spiritual enlightenment.
Berk's introspective and thought-provoking work has gained recognition, with notable accolades including the 1st Place in the Young Artist Category at the 2023 Boynes Artist Award 8th Edition and being a finalist in the 2023 CFA Artist of the Month contest. Currently he is part of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Artist Directory and he is working in his studio in Istanbul.
